Zlatan’s Back! And he WILL Sign a New Deal With Manchester United
Football’s Superman Zlatan Ibrahimovic has made a miracle recovery from his serious knee injury and could be back playing by October.
And Old Trafford insiders tell Football.com that the 35-year-old Swede will be offered a short-term contract by Jose Mourinho to stay at the club where he has become an instant hero.
Zlatan was officially released by Manchester United, who decided not to take up the two-year option on his contract. But we understand that was more of a technicality to save paying the star’s mammoth wage bill while he was out of action.
The relationship between Zlatan and Mourinho is still strong and he has remained in Cheshire to train full time at United’s Carrington training complex. It was thought he would rehabilitate himself abroad, but Zlatan is said to feel comfortable in England’s north-west.
It was initially feared Zlatan’s career was done after suffering an ACL injury in last season’s Europa Cup tie against Anderlecht in April. But the player himself was never in doubt he would return at the top level.
The striker has shunned offers from China, the MLS and other Premier League clubs, preferring the idea of linking up with new signing Romelu Lukaku to add to his haul of trophies.
